Enquiry reader: what is meant – and what is missing?

“Flange 4 inch 150 lbs stainless” means a flange to ASME B16.5, Class 150, NPS 4. The tool reads such lines by fixed rules: component, standard family, size, pressure rating and material – and names what is still missing for a reliable quotation.

Why inch and PN do not go together

A size in inches with a PN rating mixes two standard families: the drilling patterns of EN 1092-1 and ASME B16.5 are not interchangeable. How DN, NPS, PN and Class relate is shown in EN 1092-1 and ASME B16.5 compared.
