GF iFIT: the push-fit system for building installation
iFIT is the push-fit system from GF: cut the pipe to length, chamfer and calibrate, push the adapter on, push the module on until it clicks – done, without a press tool and without a flame. It joins polybutylene and multilayer composite pipe from d16 to d32 and is approved for drinking water, heating and cooling up to 70 °C and 10 bar (manufacturer information). This page shows how the system is built and what it can do – and leads to five step-by-step guides for typical projects.

- Polybutylene pipe (PB) · multilayer composite pipe PE-RT II/Al/PE-RT II
- Dimensions
- d16–d32
- Joint
- Push-fit: adapter with grip ring and two O-rings, module clicks in audibly
- Tools
- Pipe shears and chamfering/calibrating tool – no power, no machine

How the system is built
iFIT consists of three parts. The pipe: polybutylene pipe in coils (also in conduit) or multilayer composite pipe in straight lengths and coils – both belong to the system and are approved together with it. The adapter: it is pushed onto the prepared pipe end and carries the whole joining technology – the grip ring that holds the pipe against pull, two factory-fitted O-rings that seal, and the inspection window that shows the insertion depth. The module made of PPSU – elbow, tee, reducer, transition with thread, manifold or tap connection – clicks audibly onto the adapter; threaded parts are made of brass or lead-free gunmetal.
The modular adapter technique is the special feature: one module covers two dimensions – one for d16 and d20, one for d25 and d32. The adapter alone determines the dimension. According to GF that halves the number of parts to keep in stock and keeps the parts list clear.

Approval and durability
GF states 10 bar at 70 °C and 50 years of continuous operation for iFIT (PN 10); the system is approved to DVGW W 534 / W 542 for pipe and module together – which is why only system pipes belong in the adapter. SVGW load values are available for the polybutylene pipe. According to GF the joint is detachable: the adapter is destroyed and replaced in the process, the module is reusable – how that works is in the installation guide.
Five projects, step by step
For the most common projects we have written a guide each – with the answer in the first paragraph, the steps, the parts list and the limits:
Project
Additional water connection
I want to connect an additional tap – how does that work with a push-fit system?
Project
Extend or relocate a pipe
Washing machine, dishwasher or outdoor tap: how do I extend or relocate a pipe?
Project
Connect a radiator
How do I connect a radiator with a push-fit system?
Project
Garden water line
Can I lay a garden water line with a push-fit system?
Project
Repair in an existing installation
A leak: how do I replace a section with a push-fit system?
For everything else: parts-list tool – choose the project, enter the dimensions, get a finished parts list with an enquiry button.
Dimensions and availability
| Dimension | Outside ø (mm) | DN | Availability |
